Chad Crouch

Hi.  I’m Chad.  I do many things with a passing degree of proficiency, including:

1. Visual art: Drawings, paintings and a bit of printmaking.

2. Music: I write and record often, once again under my own name. One of my latest projects, Sound Of Picture, is devoted to writing and recording “scores for still photographs”. They are short, simple, instrumental pieces that you can listen to with the player on this site or downloaded to your iPod via the iTunes free podcast. in the past as Podington Bear (2007-present), Toothfairy (2005-2006), and my former band Blanket Music (1998-2006). I play keyboards, guitar, and sing with rudimentary technical skill, and a disproportionate amount of confidence.

3. Business: I run very small record label called HUSH Records in Portland, Or. I have also fixed up a few houses over the last eight years with my wife Sheryl Eckrich, keeping all but one as rental properties.

4. Design: I’ve designed interiors, record covers, several web sites (1,2,3,4,5,6…), furniture, house plans, promotional materials, screened textiles, and so forth.

5. Build: I’m the furthest thing from an expert, but I’m not afraid to take a crack at just about any home improvement project. My enthusiasm for this kind of work has diminished as it becomes increasingly clear that some things are better left to others.

6. Photography/Video: like most people, I enjoy taking photos and making videos. I have a rough grasp of the modern tools of digital photography and videography. Over the years I’ve dabbled in editing, direction, screenplay, and whatnot. I’ve recommitted myself to doing what I can to document some of the live performances of HUSH artists, as well as tinkering around with video collage and music visualization for some of my instrumental music at vimeo.com
